Immediate implantology offers numerous advantages, including a significant reduction in chair-time and overhead costs, enhanced patient-reported outcomes, and simplification of the overall restorative workflow. Despite being at least advanced according to the SAC classification, these cases demand a sophisticated approach. While complications are not uncommon due to their unforgiving nature, this presentation aims to demonstrate that immediate implants can yield excellent prognoses similar to delayed ones with the correct approach. This presentation will delve into key steps for ensuring success, emphasizing the pivotal role of mucogingival surgery to enhance clinical outcomes and the utilization of technology to streamline clinical workflows. Controversial topics such as addressing the missing buccal plate and placing implants in infected sites will be explored with case examples. The session will conclude with a comprehensive discussion on effectively managing complications and combining multiple treatments at the same time.
Learning Objectives:
Learn about general indications and contraindications
Explore how to enhance clinical outcomes and simplify restorative workflows by utilizing immediate provisionals and mucogingival surgery
Examine ways to tackle most of the general contraindications for immediates, such as infection and lack of buccal plate
