Dr. Rodrigo Neiva currently heads the Department of Periodontics at Penn Dental Medicine as Chairman and Clinical Professor of Periodontics. Dr. Neiva earned a Certificate and a Master’s Degree in Periodontics from the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry. In 2004, Dr. Neiva was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry before advancing to Clinical Associate Professor in 2009. He joined the faculty at the University of Florida, College of Dentistry, in 2010, serving as Clinical Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Periodontology. In 2017, he was awarded full Clinical Professorship, a position he held until his official transition to Penn Dental Medicine as Chairman of Periodontics in September 2019. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
