Medical tourism in modern times is a relatively new and emerging threat to many facets of medicine, including dentistry. A significant portion of the population is aware of and engaging in this practice for a variety of reasons, such as convenience, accessibility, and financial to name a few. This presentation will help arm the dentist with real life documented cases of dental misadventures with unfortunate sequelae, from full TMJ replacement to near death experiences. Adding to that will be case presentations of curious treatment and treatment plans. From Turkey to Mexico, this growing problem is something we all need to face head on with facts, reason, and results.
